Pleased to announce that a portfolio of my black and white images - Ancient Dartmoor in Monochrome - has been given a Highly Commended award at the recent OWPG Awards for Excellence 2025.

Belstone Wander

Walking article and front cover image for Dartmoor News (issue 200 May / June 2025). From picturesque Belstone with its pub, tea room and historic church follow this walk past some impressive tors including Steeperton Tor, Oke Tor and Belstone Tor and visit the Nine Stones or Nine Maidens cairn circle. The magazine front cover photo is of the Windy Post, or Beckamoor, Cross beside the Grimstone and Sortridge Leat.

The book gives details about walking both the Sarsen Way and Cranborne Droves Way – part of the Great Chalk Way – through Wiltshire, described in both directions.

Walking on Dartmoor

New guidebook – Walking on Dartmoor – has been published by Cicerone. The book is available through local bookshops, online and direct from the publisher . The book details forty walks that offer both low-level short walks suitable for all abilities and challenging high open moor routes with river crossings. There is also a two-day Ten Tors style walk for those after a challenge.

New guidebook – Guide to Dorset Pub Walks – has been published by Countryside Books, detailing 20 easy walks in Dorset, all visiting a great local pub. Explore the county’s world-famous Jurassic coastline, including Old Harry and Golden Cap. Wander through rolling downland scenery, visiting Iron Age hillforts with commanding defensive positions that offer great views. Or wander through a patchwork of fields, exploring picture-postcard villages and historic churches.
