Ridgeway National Trail

The national trail follows a chalk ridge through the North Wessex Downs national landsacpe from Avebury, passing the famous Uffington white horse, Neolithic burial mounds and Iron Age hill forts. After crossing the River Thames at Goring on Thames the route continues through the Chilterns national landscape, passing Chequers to finish at Ivinghoe Beacon.
