New guidebook – Short Walks Dartmoor South – has been published by Cicerone and is available through local bookshops, online and direct from the publisher. The book details a collection of 15 short walks that explore the southern half of Dartmoor National Park including Ivybridge and Princetown.
Some of the highlights that these walks offer include the craggy tors of Great Mis Tor, Cox Tor and Great Staple Tor; the fascinating ancient relics at Merrivale and Drizzlecombe; the rare temperate rainforest of Wistman’s Wood; the Ten Commandments Stone on Buckland Beacon; views of the infamous Foxtor Mires; medieval wayside crosses; abandoned quarries of Foggintor and Swelltor; and picturesque villages such as Meavy and Holne.
